UKIPT Galway Results: Parkinson wins UKIPT Galway

Hometown hero Padraig Parkinson has won the first leg of the PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour. He entered the final table third in chips with 693,500 but was able to overcome chip leader Paul Marrow heads-up to claim the win in his own country, a special achievement for the Irish poker hero.

Parkinson is no stranger to final tables, he finished third in the 1999 World Series of Poker Main Event and he actually won Series 5 of poular U.K poker television show, Late Night Poker. Upon winning the event he said this:

‘I was born just down the road so I can’t believe that I won it. If anyone wants a drink, I’m buying!’

Here are the final results from the Galway event, and remember that the next event is in February and PokerStars are already running qualifiers for the event which will take place in the Manchester G Casino. If you do not already have an account there, read our PokerStars review first.
