UK + Ireland Poker Tour Schedule Announced
PokerStars have just released details for a new series of live poker tournaments – the UKIPT (UK + Ireland Poker Tour). This is exciting news for U.K poker players and the tour will feature 9 stops, beginning December 2009 and running through until October 2010.
The buy-ins for each tour seem reasonable and we expect to see a lot of players at each event. This is largely due to it being Season 1 of the tour and wanting to attract as many players as possible. Their is a huge poker base in the UK and Ireland and the news that PokerStars is coming to town will excite all players.
Here is the complete schedule including dates and buy-in for each stop:
UKIPT Galway — December 11-14 — Radisson Hotel — €2,000
UKIPT Manchester — February 11-14, 2010 — G Casino — £500 + 50
UKIPT Coventry — April 8-11, 2010 — G Casino — £500 + 50
UKIPT Nottingham — May 13-16, 2010 — Dusk Till Dawn — £500 + 50
UKIPT Killarney — June 24-27, 2010 — Gleneagle Hotel — €1,000 + 100
UKIPT Brighton — July 15-18, 2010 — Rendezvous Casino — £1,000 + 100
UKIPT Scotland — Still to be decided
UKIPT Dublin — September 9-12, 2010 — Burlington Hotel — €1,000 + 100
UKIPT London — October 2-8, 2010 — Metropole Hotel — £5,000 + 300
PokerStars have also announced that all events with a £500+50 buy-in will have a £100,000 guarantee, and events with a €1000+100 buy-in will have a €250,000 guarantee. The winner of each leg of the tour will be awarded a seat in the £5000+300 Grand Final in London and there is also an exciting Leaderboard which will reward players with seats in Season 2 UKIPT events, as well as an online freeroll for the top 100. Here is the leaderboard rewards:
1st – Main Event buy-in + hotel for all UKIPT Season 2 events
2nd – Main Event buy-in for four UKIPT Season 2 events
3rd – Main Event buy-in for two UKIPT Season 2 events
Top 100 – Seat in an online freeroll with a £10,000 prize pool
PokerStars are already running satellites for packages to the events. The packages will include the buy-in for the event, hotel accomodation, and expenses money.
The first stop is UKIPT Galway and here are the variety of ways you can qualify at PokerStars:
Cash tournaments – from $2.22
FPP tournaments – from 111 FPP’s
Step tournaments – from $7.50 or 500 FPP’s
