Sid Wyman – Poker Hall of Fame – 1979
Sidney Wyman was born June 1910, St. Louis, Missouri and died in June 1978. He was a successful poker player who many considered the best of his time, and he was made a charter member into the the Poker Hall of Fame in 1979. As well as being a successful poker player he owned and co-owned various hotels and casinos in Las Vegas, including the Sands, Royal Nevada and The Dunes. During his funeral all play at The Dunes casino was halted for two minutes as a mark of respect for the poker legend.
