Shaun Deeb is quitting Tournanment Poker
Shaun Deeb is a feared online multi-table tournament player and is considered the best by many, but he has announced he is quitting tournament poker. In recent months his results haven’t been up to his usual standards but no-one thought he would be quitting tournaments.
Deeb plays on PokerStars as ’shaundeeb’ and on Full Tilt Poker as ‘tedsfishfry’. He has won millions playing online tournaments with notable results including the PokerStars Super Tuesday which he won in January 2009 for his biggest online result of $81,812.50. Here is what Deeb said on the TwoPlusTwo forums announcing that he is quitting tourneys:
“yah Im burntout I hate them I’m done with them. I cant win live everyone was always right I cant win online I just ran good everyone was always right. I’m gunna take rest of year off hopefully and go do something else yah poker was good for a while but **** I hate what I’ve become.”
His post had instant replies of shock and many people were even confused and thought he meant he was quitting poker altogether which led to him posting the following:
“guys Im not quitting poker Im quitting tourneys. I know I got a lot of you into this etc and motivated you but Ive lost all motivation and dont see it coming back in a long time theres little to gain from mtts for me in the future at least life ev wise.”
A break from poker is always good and we are in no doubt that after a break Shaun will be back crushing the online MTT’s again. He has so much talent and it would be a real shame if he packed in tournaments.
Although he is primarily an online MTT player he has entered several live tournaments with his best result being 1st in the 2009 EPT High Roller Kiev which he won for $85,183.
Shaun Deeb has created several high quality training vids at online poker training site Poker Savvy Plus.
