Summary
Absolute Poker has always been recognised as one of the most popular online poker rooms, but now they have merged with Ultimate Bet to create their own Cereus network, they have become huge. With great software, lots of players, a variety of promotions and a great bonus for new players, Absolute Poker are constantly growing.
Software
The Absolute Poker software has always been popular with online players because it is so customisable. Players can upload images to use as their avatars, choose different table views and choose different backgrounds. There is a handy stats function for note taking, and the lobby displays vital stats such as average pot size, players stack sizes, hands played per hour and more. The software also allows players to multi-table up to ten tables at a time which is perfect.
Game Variety
Absolute Pokeroffer players lots of variety with various mixed-games as well as the normal games on offer at most sites. Their games on offer include Texas Holdem, Omaha Hi, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo, Razz, Seven-Card Stud, H.O.R.S.E and H.O.S.E. The limits vary from limits as small as $0.01/$0.02 to high stakes $500/$1000 games. They offer nine-handed, six-handed, and heads-up tables for most of the available games, and also have various tournaments for each game variation.
Ring Game Traffic
Usually you can find around 2,000-3,000 cash game players at Absolute Poker. Most of the action is at the lower No-Limit Holdem games. There is action at most limits however, even at the high $500/$1000 stakes.
Tournaments
Absolute Poker has a great tournament schedule for tournament players. Unlike most other sites which mainly only offer Holdem tournaments, Absolute offer lots of variety, including mixed game tournaments, tournaments with prizes such as books and clothing, and much more. Their most popular tournaments are qualifiers to big live tournaments where players can qualify from as little as $1. The buy-ins get higher though, up to thousands of dollars for high rollers in tournaments worth hundreds of thousands. The merge with Ultimate Bet has increased guaranteed prize pools, and there is now double the players which makes for great competition and huge prize pools.
Soft Competition
Absolute Poker has always had soft competition, with lots of very poor players at the small-mid limits. This is perfect for good players and if you multi-table then you will be in heaven at Absolute, with players paying you off with small pairs etc. The competition is a lot tougher at the higher limits though where players gamble thousands of pounds every pot.
Customer Support
Currently Absolute Poker only offer e-mail support, however with the merge with Ultimate Bet we expect to see telephone or live chat support soon. The response times from e-mail enquiries are very fast however so dont let that put you off.
