Phil Ivey becomes number one on all-time money list!
2009 was a massive year for Phil Ivey and he has continued his impressive live tournament form into 2010. Thanks to taking second place in the $100k Aussie Millions event which saw some of the best poker players in the world, Ivey is now number one on the all-time money list with a massive $12,804,433.
Ivey entered 2010 hot on the heels of Daniel Negreanu who was number one with $12,432,367, and Negreanu had even set himself the goal of seeing out 2010 as number one on the list, now he has a battle on his hands! Now with a difference of just under $400k, Negreanu will have a tough task of getting ahead of Ivey who has been in unstoppable form lately. 2009 saw him revive his live tournament hunger thanks to winning two WSOP bracelets as well as making the final table of the WSOP Main Event which created a massive buzz in the poker community.
The year 2009 did end sourly for Ivey however when it was announced that he and, then wife Luciaetta, would be divorcing. Despite that being finalised, it hasn’t affected Ivey’s skills at the table and this will surely be another exciting year for the Full Tilt Pro.
Despite such a remarkable achievement, Ivey is staying as cool as ever and stated he would just be going out for dinner to celebrate and then getting ready for the Aussie Millions Million Dollar Cash Game where he is expected to excel yet again.
