Who is martonas on Full Tilt Poker?
Most people were saying ‘martonas’ was just a one hit wonder and wouldn’t be back at the high-stakes games on Full Tilt Poker again, many saying ‘durrrr‘ made him broke, but last night mystery player ‘martonas’ was back in action and came away with $196k in profit.
Martonas first showed up at the highest stakes online in August and raked up over $1.5 million in winnings in just a few weeks, however he ended up losing $3.4 million in only nine days most of it being donated to ‘durrrr’.
His first opponent was Di ‘Urindanger’ Dang, and despite playing 1,100 hands with many $100k+ pots the action ended with both players finishing even. Next up for Martonas was CardRunners poker training instructor Cole South. Martonas came out victorious after 828 hands winning $124k from South, mainly thanks to cracking South’s Aces by rivering a straight once both players got all-in on the flop.
Martonas’ attention then turned to new unknown high-stakes player ‘liverpoolfc0985′ in another heads-up battle. Again, Martonas came out victorious winning $64k, and he even turned his attention to six-max and full-ring games however he only won $4 from those games.
So just who is Martonas?
Well this is still uncomfirmed and no-one in the poker world has claimed to be martonas, but the most logical answer is either a shared account, or a player being staked, but who? Martin De Knjiff and Jonas “Nebuchad” Danielsson is the most obvious answer, Martin (Mart) and Jonas (onas) = Martonas. Jonas has been crushing high-stake games on European sites for years and many believe Martin De Knjiff is staking him for a slice of the action. However it is, it seems they are determined to take shots against the best players in the world, but most people will be wanting to see him battle ‘durrrr‘ again to try and win back some of his $3.4 million in losses.
Stay tuned for the latest high-stakes poker action, or watch it as it happens on Full Tilt Poker.
