3 Poker Players who will win millions in 2010!

In this article we take a look at some of the poker players who we think will have a very successful year. The list is in no order and is only my opinion. Like every year there will be a few breakout stars. 2009 saw Isildur1 capture headlines by taking the online high stakes games by storm, and Joe Cada became the youngest ever WSOP Main Event Champion to win over $8 million and land a sponsorship deal with PokerStars. You will be familiar with most of my selections, and should certainly avoid them both online and offline!

Vladimir ‘Beyne’ Geshkenbein (pictured on the right)

Vladimir ‘Beyne’ Geshkenbein is a 21-year old Russian who was born in Moscow but now lives in Malta. Best known by his PKR username ‘beyne’, he has become one of the most feared players in the world in recent months. Beyne joined Team PKR Pro in November 2009 after playing their exclusively since March 2007. As soon as he joined he began crushing the low stake cash games and quickly moved up the stakes to play in the highest games available. He has won hundreds of thousands playing in those games, but 2009 also saw him add two major live tournament wins to his record, which is what led to him being signed as a PKR Pro. His first big live win came at ATTP Macau where he defeated poker legened Johnny Chan heads-up in the High-Roller event to win $266,705. Then only two months later Beyne entered the PKR Heads Up Grand Slam which he managed to win for $120,000. With so much attention on the 21-year old, he recieved an invitation to the PartyPoker World Open V Heat 5 where he busted in 7th, however he made a lasting impression with his super-aggressive plays, and well-timed bluffs. 2010 will be the breakthrough year for Beyne so watch this space! Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan

This is one player you will need no introduction for. Still only 23-years old, Tom Dwan has been crushing the internet poker games at Full Tilt Poker for years under his alias ‘durrrr’. 2009 wasn’t such a successful year for Dwan, he lost $4.3 million at the online tables, and after setting his ‘durrrr challenge’, he and Patrik Antonius still haven’t completed it. Not all of 2009 was bad however. Dwan became a Full Tilt Red Pro, meaning that in 2010 he will be travelling much more and playing in many live poker tournaments. Dwan is used to winning and losing the first prize money of these tournaments in one pot playing online, but with Phil Ivey and others to have prop bets with, 2010 could see Dwan make a huge impact on the live poker tournament circuit. He will also be wanting to avenge his 2009 online losses so it should be a very exciting year for Dwan. Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu has been a consistent winner over the past few years. He is number one on the all-time money leader list with $12,428,047 but Phil Ivey is right behind him. Negreanu is a very busy man, yet still he posts impressive results every year. He has his own poker training site, PokerVT where he produces videos to help players become better, winning players. As well as travelling around the world representing PokerStars, playing online at the site, and taking part in various poker television shows. Yet despite being so busy, Negreanu has set himself some goals to achieve in 2010 which suggests he is hungrier than ever to have a successful year. He certainly has the experience and skills to achieve all of his goals and win millions this year so Daniel ‘Kid Poker’ Negreanu is certainly one player for you to keep tabs on in 2010. Read our PokerStars review or visit PokerVT where you can learn from the poker legend and improve your skills.
